"I have been a teacher for 18 years. The majority of time in the UK, initially as a high school teacher in English Literature, Media Studies and Drama. I spent one year teaching in an International school in Andalusia in 2001. In 2002 I hit 30 and wanted a change so I moved in to SEN. I ran a behavior unit in a secondary School in the UK and then became an assistant department head for SEN. After this I became the head of large Special Needs department in another secondary school in Brighton UK. In 2011 I was ready for a new challenge and so I accepted a post in Sao Paulo, Brasil. I was employed to bring together SEN and EAL and coordinate support systems across the school. I spent two years in Brasil and then moved to my current role as Teaching and Learning coordinator at Nagoya International School in Japan. My passion is inclusive education. I believe in the ability of all students to succeed and thrive. I believe in the power of education. I have become a huge advocate of the IB programs, as for me, as an inclusive practitioner they offer a built in inclusive approach. My other passion is working with teachers. I have run workshops and training programs for all kinds of educators. I always want to work in school where professional dialogue is central. Students are best supported by fantastic teaching and learning.I am a writer and about to complete my masters program in creative writing. I love all kinds of creative work, and enjoy collaborating with other writers, musicians and artists "
